Sierra Club, Sungevity offer cash gift card to encourage solar adoption among residents

By Greentech Lead America: The Sierra Club, an
environmental organization, has partnered with Sungevity, a residential solar
provider, to help families go solar easily and affordably. The partnership
offers a $750 cash gift card to customers who go solar with Sungevity and the
Sierra Club.

The new partnership will help consumers save money on
electricity bills and reduce pollution. The partnership is available to new
residential solar customers in the states Sungevity services – Arizona,
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York.

“We are proud to be working with Sungevity to help
families across the country save money and support the Sierra Club by going
solar. With today’s partnership, we are helping Sierra Club’s 1.4 million
members walk the walk in helping to address climate change, by making it easier
and more affordable to add solar panels to their homes,” said Michael Brune,
executive director of the Sierra Club.

Sungevity also offers a solar leasing
plan, allowing homeowners “rent their rooftop”. This plan allows
home owners to save money on their electric bills by paying Sungevity directly,
without any upfront costs, financing, installation, and maintenance.

Going solar can help consumers save money on their
electricity bills. On average, customers can save up to 15 percent on
electricity costs from day one when they go solar. Rooftop solar also helps
people protect the planet by reducing pollution, every kilowatt hour of solar
generated replaces electricity that might come from fossil fuels like coal.

“This partnership makes so much sense, especially as
the economy continues its slow recovery. Now, homeowners who want to save money
on their electricity rates and support The Sierra Club, can do so simultaneously
at no cost to themselves. Shine on,” said Danny Kennedy, Sungevity’s
founder and president.
