AECOM-Jacobs, Aquaria, OceanWell, among others, announced their latest technology contract news with their customers or channel patners.
AECOM-Jacobs JV to provide engineering services
AECOM, a provider of infrastructure development solution, announced that its joint venture with Jacobs Consultancy Canada will provide engineering services to upgrade the Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant for Metro Vancouver.
The plant upgrades aim to improve water quality, support Metro Vancouver’s carbon neutrality goals, and enhance climate resilience. The joint venture will provide engineering, including design and project planning.
Aquaria Raises $112 mn
Aquaria, a provider of generators that produce clean water from the air, has secured $112 million to develop water infrastructure. Investors include Mistletoe, Ciri Ventures, Soma Capital, HF0, Bow Capital, Umami Capital, and Dick Gephardt. Aquaria has also signed an agreement with Upwell Water to use 100 million for its projects.
The new funding will be used to develop and finance water supply solutions for residential, hospitality, and commercial properties. Property developers can demonstrate water access, helping to overcome restrictions caused by limited water availability.
Aquaria has built the first homes in the world using air for the entire water supply and is building 1,000 homes in Hawaii using atmospheric water. These homes will include solar power and batteries to address energy challenges.
OceanWell Secures $11 mn
OceanWell, a provider of water technology, announced $11 million in its Series A funding to develop its next-generation modular deep-sea water farm solution and launch a water farm pilot in California with Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD).
OceanWell is developing modular deep-sea water farms with pods that use natural hydrostatic pressure at 400-meter depths for reverse osmosis desalination. Each pod can produce up to one million gallons of fresh water daily, and the modular design allows for projects to scale based on demand.
