CNTE Powers Czech Republic’s Largest Battery Storage Project with STAR T System
Contemporary Nebula Technology Energy (CNTE), a CATL-backed energy storage solutions provider, has supplied its STAR T liquid-cooled battery energy storage system for the Modlany Energy Park in northern Czech Republic. The project combines a 42.7 MW solar photovoltaic plant with a 37.95 MW/41.7 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), making it the largest completed battery storage project in the Czech Republic. The installation features 11 STAR T-285 liquid-cooled energy storage containers, each rated at 3.45 MW/3.793 MWh. Connected to a high-voltage substation, the project will deliver fast-response frequency regulation, grid balancing and renewable energy integration, improving grid flexibility, reliability and the utilization of solar power across the region.
China-Egypt Joint Renewable Energy Laboratory Drives Desert Green Power Innovation
The China-Egypt Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Renewable Energy, established through collaboration between China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) and Egypt’s Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), is accelerating renewable energy innovation in Egypt. Since its launch, the laboratory has enabled Egypt to produce its first locally manufactured half-cut solar cell in October 2023 and its first high-efficiency half-cell solar module a month later. Led by experts including Professor Mohamed Zahran, Zhou Meng and Lu Yunzhang, the initiative has built a complete photovoltaic research, testing and production system while deploying solar-powered water pumping, purification and off-grid energy solutions. The partnership supports Egypt’s clean energy transition, technology localisation and broader renewable energy development across Africa under the Belt and Road Initiative.
RWE and Google Sign 15-Year PPA for 155 MW Oklahoma Solar Project
RWE and Google have signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the entire output of RWE’s 155 MW Crooked Creek Solar Project in Oklahoma, USA. The agreement will supply Google with renewable electricity to support the company’s expanding data centre operations and long-term carbon-free energy goals. Scheduled to begin commercial operations in 2027, the solar project will strengthen Oklahoma’s clean energy capacity while contributing to local economic development and grid decarbonisation. The deal further expands Google’s renewable energy portfolio and reinforces RWE’s position as a leading provider of corporate renewable energy solutions in North America. Andrew Flanagan, CEO of RWE Clean Energy, said the agreement reflects growing collaboration with technology companies to accelerate the clean energy transition.
