Vestas Wins Two Vietnam Wind Contracts Covering 16 V163 Turbines
Vestas has secured contracts to supply 16 V163 turbines from its 4 MW platform for two new wind farms in central Vietnam. Both projects are included in Vietnam’s Power Development Plan 8 and are among the developments that have secured investment licences and progressed toward execution. Vestas did not disclose the project names, exact combined MW capacity, customer identity or contract values. The turbine orders extend the manufacturer’s position in Vietnam, where it already has approximately 1.6 GW of installed or contracted wind capacity. The contracts provide another indication that Vietnam’s delayed wind-development pipeline is beginning to move toward construction as developers progress projects under the country’s revised electricity-development framework.
Nordex Wins 56 MW Austrian Wind Repowering Order with 25-Year Service Contract
Nordex has secured a 56 MW order from WEB Windenergie for the Auersthal RI repowering project in Lower Austria. Nordex will supply and install eight N175/6.X turbines rated at 7 MW each, marking the first deployment of the turbine model in Austria and Nordex’s largest single project in the country. The contract also includes a 25-year Premium Service agreement, providing a long-duration service component beyond the turbine supply order. The project will replace existing turbines with higher-capacity equipment, increasing electricity production while reusing an established wind site. Commissioning is scheduled for 2028. WEB currently operates renewable power plants totalling approximately 700 MW across Europe and North America.
ACEN Brings Diamond into 70 MWdc Rajasthan Solar Project with Up to 49% Stake
ACEN has signed agreements with Diamond India Renewables One covering the sale of up to a 49 percent stake in Ijya Five Renewables, developer of a 50 MWac/70 MWdc solar project in Rajasthan, India. The transaction will proceed in stages, beginning with Diamond acquiring an initial 10 percent voting interest, subject to contractual conditions. It is the fourth announced Indian renewable partnership between ACEN and Diamond, following arrangements covering a 250 MWac Rajasthan solar project and 120 MW of Karnataka wind projects. ACEN consolidated its Indian renewable platform earlier in 2026, gaining full ownership of a 1,059 MWdc portfolio and control of a development pipeline approaching 7 GW.
AIKO and Next Green Commission 1.3 MW Solar System at Melbourne Sports Centre
AIKO and Next Green Group have completed a 1.3 MW rooftop solar installation at Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, increasing project capacity by more than 50 percent from the original 850 kW tender specification. The system comprises 2,016 AIKO All Back Contact modules and nine 110 kW GoodWe inverters installed across the venue’s curved and partially shaded roof. The State Electricity Commission owns and operates the system, which began operating in September. It is expected to generate more than 1 GWh annually, supply roughly one-quarter of the centre’s electricity requirements and save around A$70,000 per year. Next Green has a five-year maintenance agreement covering the installation.
