Revolve to Acquire 24.3 MWh Behind-the-Meter Battery Portfolio in Ontario

Revolve Renewable Power has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 14.2 MW/24.3 MWh portfolio of six operating behind-the-meter battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across Ontario, Canada. The portfolio, owned by Trillium Storage Limited Partnership and Trillium Storage GP Inc., will be acquired for CAD 7.63 million, funded through a USD 11 million bridge credit facility. The operating assets are expected to generate annual revenue of CAD 2.12 million–CAD 2.97 million and EBITDA of CAD 1.62 million–CAD 2.79 million. Myke Clark, Chief Executive Officer of Revolve Renewable Power, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s cash-generating storage business, expands its presence in Ontario and supports its long-term strategy of growing contracted renewable energy assets across North America.

Hydrostor Secures 60 MW Offtake Deal for California Long-Duration Energy Storage Project

Hydrostor has signed a 60 MW long-term offtake agreement for its Willow Rock Energy Storage Center, a 500 MW/4,000 MWh Advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (A-CAES) project in Kern County, California. The agreement was executed with Southern California Community Choice Aggregator (SCPA), expanding the project’s contracted capacity and reinforcing demand for long-duration energy storage. Designed to provide eight hours of continuous electricity discharge, Willow Rock will enhance grid reliability, support renewable energy integration and meet California’s growing electricity demand. Jordan Cole, Chief Commercial Officer of Hydrostor, said the agreement demonstrates increasing market confidence in A-CAES technology, while Jon Norman, President of Hydrostor, highlighted its role in delivering reliable, cost-effective clean energy infrastructure for California’s evolving power system.

Utilitas Starts Construction of 117 MW Wind and Battery Project on Latvia–Estonia Border

Utilitas Wind has commenced construction of the Lode Wind Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) near the Latvia–Estonia border in Valmiera Municipality, Latvia. The project will feature 117 MW of onshore wind capacity from 17 wind turbines, alongside a 30 MW/60 MWh battery energy storage system to enhance grid flexibility and renewable energy integration. Scheduled for commissioning in 2028, the development is expected to generate approximately 390 GWh of clean electricity annually — enough to supply around 130,000 households. The cross-border project has received EU Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) support and will strengthen energy security across the Baltic region. René Tammist, Chief Executive Officer of Utilitas Wind, said the project marks a major step in accelerating renewable energy deployment and regional electricity market integration.
