Earth Infra plans Rs 600-cr solar investment in tie-up with Japan

The realty firm Earth Infrastructures will enter solar energy market in association with Japanese firms with an initial investment of Rs 600 crore.

As part of the business diversification, company has identified certain sectors like solar energy as well as waste management that offer lot of opportunities, said, Vikas Gupta, managing director, Earth Infrastructures.

The discussion with few Japanese companies for technical collaboration to enter into new business is going on and the diversification plan will be finalized in 3-4 months.

As part of business delegation, Earth group’s top management recently went to Japan where they held initial discussions. The next round of meeting would be held shortly in India.

The initial investment is estimated at about Rs 600 crore for entering into a new sector, which will be funded through internal accumulations.

The company is open to options like either having a technical collaboration or equity participation.
