ReneSola has announced it will provide 5.4 MW in solar modules to Welspun Energy a New Delhi-based EPC firm, for a utility-scale project in India.

ReneSola will provide 240W and 245W series of its Virtus II PV modules this month, under the terms of the agreement.

These PV modules were manufactured at the OEM facilities of Company in India, meeting the domestic content requirements (DCR), which demand for solar projects to incorporate local components.

As per the regulatory allocation of National Solar Mission in India, the project is expected to get expanded.

ReneSola’s global OEM capacity of more than 1.1 GW helps in quick respond to client demand and to shift trade policies across the major solar markets, which have become problematic for many China-based peers, said, Xianshou Li, CEO, ReneSola.

India is one of the seven OEM locations of the Company around the world, and the country’s DCR market possesses high growth potential.
