Who’s Jakob Wegge-Larsen, the new CFO of Vestas?

Jakob Wegge-Larsen will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Vestas and become a member of the company’s Executive Management team during the second quarter of 2025.

The wind turbine major said Jakob Wegge-Larsen brings a wealth of experience, having served as CFO and member of the Management Board at DB Schenker since 2023. Prior to this, Jakob held prominent global and regional CFO roles within the Maersk Group, Hamburg Sud, and MSC Denmark, amassing extensive international expertise in finance and leadership.

Henrik Andersen, President and CEO of Vestas, expressed enthusiasm about Jakob’s appointment, emphasizing his ability to lead Vestas’ Finance organization toward achieving its ambitious goal of double-digit profitability.

He acknowledged Jakob’s comprehensive background with large multinational companies as a significant asset for Vestas’ continued growth. Henrik also extended gratitude to Rasmus Gram for his effective contributions as interim CFO, ensuring stability during the transition period.

Jakob Wegge-Larsen shared his excitement about joining Vestas at a pivotal time when the global demand for energy is growing. He highlighted his eagerness to collaborate with the Executive Management team and the broader Vestas workforce to support the company’s critical role in meeting global energy needs.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience in logistics and shipping, Jakob aims to leverage his expertise to sustain and enhance Vestas’ trajectory of success. He expressed appreciation to Henrik and the Board for their confidence in his leadership.

Rasmus Gram will continue as interim CFO until Jakob officially begins, ensuring a comprehensive handover process during Jakob’s onboarding.

Jakob, 48, holds an MBA from Henley Business School in the UK and resides in Denmark with his wife and two children. His appointment follows the departure of Hans Martin Smith in December 2024, who left Vestas after more than two decades with the company to pursue new opportunities.
