Envision Energy has secured a contract for ACWA Power’s 1.1GW onshore wind farm in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez, one of the largest in the MENA region.
The project will enhance Egypt’s renewable energy capacity and support its sustainable development goals.
Managed by Suez Wind Energy, a joint venture by ACWA Power and HAU Energy, and financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, it will feature 138 of Envision’s 8 MW wind turbines, tailored for high wind and sandy conditions, with 25 years of maintenance services. Financial details were not disclosed.
Kane Xu, Senior VP at Envision Energy, highlighted the project as a transformative collaboration, showcasing the potential of innovation and tailored solutions in renewable energy deployment. Envision’s turbines offer custom configurations, backed by vertical supply chain integration and the Galileo system for precise performance optimization.
This project will bolster Egypt’s renewable energy infrastructure, attract investments, drive innovation, and create job opportunities while setting a new standard for large-scale wind energy in the region. It underscores Envision Energy’s dedication to advancing the global energy transition and fostering future collaborations.
