Fisher German approves four UK wind turbine projects

The renewable energy team, Fisher German is advising on the development of 500kW-900kW wind turbine projects covering four UK counties.

All of these projects are anticipated to be operational by the middle of 2015.

The projects in Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, North East Lincolnshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire have been consented by Fisher German.

Recent data released by Renewable UK shows that planning approval rates for onshore wind farms in England have fallen from a 58 percent in 2013 to 33 percent in 2014.

The renewable energy market has become challenging for developers recently. Added to this, there are difficulties like complex aviation, grid and planning issues, which are expected for wind energy projects, noted, Darren Edwards, partner at Fisher German’s Market Harborough office.

These four projects have secured planning consents with clients and the next 12 months is going to be busy for the renewable energy agents by converting planning approvals into operational projects, added, Edwards.

The permission have been granted for 34 turbines and the delivery of these four projects will further add to the growing pipeline of operational sites, with an opportunity to work with other landowners around the UK who either have projects at the pre-planning, planning, or appeal stages. Despite the numerous challenges, when striving to diversify into renewable energy, the returns achievable from well thought through projects still make them well worth considering, Edwards continued.
