Chinese photovoltaic manufacturer JinkoSolar recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Minsheng New Energy (CMNE) for the supply of 1 GW of solar PV modules.
The modules are to be utilized as part of the 20 GW of solar projects CMNE would be developing over five years.
A statement issued by JinkoSolar says the agreement has laid down that CMNE will “purchase at least 1 gigawatt of solar PV modules with priority given to JinkoSolar in case of same terms and conditions over the two years spanning 2015 and 2016 with the minimum amount allocated for 2015 being no less than 600 MW”.
CMNE is the wholly owned subsidiary of China Minsheng Investment Corp (CMIC). And CMIC plans to invest the equivalent of $32.7 billion on the 20-gigawatt of projects that CMNE is to develop.
Last month, JinkoSolar completed the supply of 3 MW of photovoltaic modules to the largest rooftop solar installation in Central America sited in Honduras, the Embotelladora de Sula SA, or EMSULA.
As many as 11,650 pieces of JinkoSolar’s “high-efficiency PV modules” that are to produce about 3,815,830 kWh of electricity in a year form the solar installations at the project.
The project is estimated to reduce emissions by roughly 1263.6 tons of CO2 annually.
