American Clean Energy powers 4.5 MW of solar facility at Toms River Regional School District

Greentech Lead America: American Clean Energy is powering
up 4.5 MW of solar arrays for the Toms River Regional Schools located in Toms
River, NJ, after winning municipal RFP for power purchase agreement (PPA).

The solar installation comprises 16,000 solar panels
located on the rooftops of 13 of their buildings and provides annual output of
5,095,000 kWh

The energy produced from the solar facility would satisfy
the annual energy needs of approximately 575 homes. It also brings
environmental benefits.

“It is important that our actions provide a living lesson
to our students and the community regarding our commitment to a healthy, safe
world,” said Frank Roselli, superintendent of Toms River Regional
Schools. “American Clean Energy’s competitively priced Power Purchase
Agreement allowed us to achieve those goals without having to take money out of
our pocket.”

American Clean Energy’s PPA agreement with Toms River
Regional Schools will provide them with significant savings over its term while
also eliminating price volatility going forward.

“As our installations have come online during
the past months, Toms River has already begun to receive significant financial
benefit from the solar energy production,” said Steve Morgan, CEO of American
Clean Energy. “Additionally, as the economy rebounds most experts predict we
can expect energy prices in New Jersey to return to the double digit price
increases we were experiencing the three years before the recession began.”

American Clean Energy presently has a development
pipeline of over 50MW in the Northeast consisting of utility, commercial and
municipal installations.
