Huaneng Power completes trial runs of coal-fired and wind power projects

Huaneng Power International announced that one 600MW
coal-fired generating unit of Shanxi Huaneng Zuoquan Power Plant (of which the
company owns 80 percent equity interest) has completed a trial run recently.

Phase
I of Huaneng’s
Jiuquan Wind Power Project, which is located in Gansu Province and wholly owned
by the company, with a total generation capacity of 501.5MW had also completed
a trial run at the end of 2011.

In
aggregate, the new projects have increased the company’s controlled generation
capacity and equity-based generation capacity by 1,101.5MW and 981.5MW,
respectively.

Accordingly,
the company’s total controlled generation capacity has increased from 57,977MW
to 59,078.5MW, and total equity-based generation capacity has increased from
53,185.9MW to 54,167.4MW.

Huaneng
Power International is one of China’s largest listed power producers with
controlled generation capacity of 59,078.5MW and equity-based generation
capacity of 54,167.4MW. The power plants of the company are located in 19
provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China. The company also has
a wholly-owned power company in Singapore.
