Greentech Lead India: RAD Data Communications is exhibiting
its complete portfolio of carrier-grade telecommunications access solutions for
substations, telecontrol and protection and secure grid automation
at World Smart Grid Conference India September 12-14 in New Delhi.
The technologies that RAD will be highlighting at the
event include Teleprotection over TDM/PSN, SCADA
and IEC 61850 Connectivity, SCADA Protocol Conversion, Clocking and
Synchronization Solutions and TDM over Ethernet/IP/MPLS.
“Almost every power utility around the globe is either planning or has already
begun the transformation of its T&D grid into an intelligent, packet-based
network. India is no exception,” said Jayant Deo, president of RAD India. “The
massive power outages this summer only heighten the urgency to improve the utilities
communications infrastructure to help avoid cascading blackouts such as
occurred throughout the country.”
“RAD has the product portfolio and expertise to lead
India’s utility sector forward into the Smart Grid era by providing seamless
migration to next-generation power utility communications networks,” Deo added.
Mati Epstein, RAD’s director of Strategic Sales Development, will discuss Smart Grid Communications and Security in a Migration
Phase.
RAD’s multi-functional, hybrid design allows utilities to choose the migration
path that best suits their needs. By combining carrier-grade Ethernet
capabilities with extensive support for legacy services and interfaces, RAD’s
future-proof system easily integrates intelligent electronic devices and Smart
Grid services and equipment over existing TDM infrastructure.
