Lamborghini plans to launch its first fully electric vehicle (EV) in 2029, a year later than its earlier timeline of 2028.
CEO Stephan Winkelmann stated that the luxury sports car market is not expected to be ready for full electrification before 2029.
Lamborghini offers a fully hybridized lineup, including the Urus SE SUV, the Revuelto sports car, and the Temerario, priced at over €300,000 ($315,000), excluding VAT.
Lamborghini is monitoring the EU’s 2026 review of the 2035 ban on internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and views synthetic fuels as a potential opportunity for its segment.
Lamborghini reiterated its commitment to producing all its cars in Italy, with no plans for manufacturing outside Sant’Agata Bolognese.
The company confirmed it will remain under the Volkswagen Group and has no spin-off plans.
Winkelmann declined to comment on potential business impacts from Donald Trump’s U.S. presidency and possible new tariffs on European-made products.
