Itron said City of Pearland, Texas, will install its OpenWay Riva IoT solution for water plus leak sensors to reduce water loss and improve delivery of water to its customers.
Itron Analytics, a software-as-a-service offering that collects and analyzes data in the network to improve operational awareness, will also assist the utility in improving experience of its 120,000 customers.
City of Pearland will replace its existing Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system with 37,000 Itron OpenWay Riva water communication modules and leak sensors to increase metering accuracy, improve customer service and provide better water consumption data.
Itron said its Analytics will assist the city to make more informed decisions about its operations and better account for water loss. Itron will install endpoints, routers and provide overall project management.
“With Itron’s OpenWay Riva solution, we can leverage real-time data analysis to detect water loss, engage with customers and improve meter reading,” said Robert Upton, director of engineering and capital projects for the City of Pearland.
Gavin Van Tonder, president of Water, Itron, said the company’s OpenWay Riva solution, leak detection and analytics will assist the City of Pearland to proactively detect leaks and empower customers to conserve water.
