A joint venture between water solutions specialist ACCIONA Agua and water utility solutions provider TRILITY (ATJV) has won the Earth Award from the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) for their contribution in Mundaring Water Treatment Project.

The AU$300-million project was established in Mundaring in Western Australia.

The project was implemented by a consortium of Helena Water, TRILITY, ACCIONA Agua and Lloyds Bank under an agreement with the Water Corporation of Western Australia.

Helena Water is responsible for the design, construction and commissioning of the facilities to ATJV and the joint venture executed the design in cooperation with GHD engineering.

ATJV now operates and maintains the plant and pump station under a 35-year agreement with Helena Water.

The plant, located on a redeveloped 13.6-hectare site near Perth, is the only source of potable water for around 33,000 rural areas, providing a safe water supply to the Western Australia’s Wheatbelt and Goldfields Regions.

In addition, the utility has 165 million liters per day design capacity and 240 million liters per day expandable capacity.

The project had won a number of awards throughout the construction period and was officially honored at a CCF ceremony in Perth, stated, David Taylor, chairman, ATJV.
