Hanwha SolarOne selected to supply modules to Gransolar & Hyperion

Hanwha SolarOne, a global provider of solar photovoltaic modules, has just supplied 12.9 MW of HSL PV modules to the Spanish/Portuguese consortium Gransolar & Hyperion.

The high-output solar PV modules are being installed in solar parks across the areas of Lisbon and Coimbra, Portugal.

Gransolar is an international Spanish company, working in Europe, Africa and America, specialized in development, engineering, supply, construction and operation of solar photovoltaic plants. Hyperion is a Portuguese company dedicated to the promotion and development of renewable energy project.

Hanwha SolarOne has also supplied modules to a number of Gransolar projects including two in South Africa that totaled 155 MW.

In September and October, Hanwha SolarOne delivered another 17.8 MW of PV modules to six solar parks in Portugal. Furthermore, the company recently secured a contract to supply 20 MW of PV modules to solar parks in the United Kingdom in December and throughout the first quarter of 2014.

Hanwha SolarOne serves the utility, commercial, government and residential markets through a growing network of third-party distributors, OEM manufacturers and system integrators. The company maintains a strong presence worldwide, with a global business network that spans Europe, North America, Asia, South America, Africa and the Middle East.

Hanwha SolarOne reported record solar PV shipments in 2Q 13. The company has reported net revenues of RMB 1,182.8 million (US$192.7 million), an increase of 6.3 percent from RMB 1,112.9 million in 1Q13, and an increase of 10.4 percent from RMB 1,071.7 million in 2Q12.

Solar PV module shipments, including module processing services, were 321.2 MW, an increase from 289.1 MW in 1Q13, and an increase from 230.7 MW in 2Q12. Shipments of 321 MW were the highest quarterly level since Hanwha’s purchase of the predecessor company in September 2010.
