FTC Solar announced the availability of DC Electrical design capabilities for ground mount systems in the V3.2 release of its proprietary SunDAT Solar Design Automation software solution.

SunDAT V3.2 contains no system size limitations and delivers highly accurate designs from small residential systems to multi-hundred MW Single Axis tracker utility-scale projects.

The new DC Electrical design capabilities allow the user to create DC equipment hierarchies, auto-place combiners and inverters in 3D, and watch while SunDAT generates a wire schedule in real-time.

SunDAT now allows the designer to create electrically complete blocks centered around one or more inverters in the solar array.

“The addition of DC Electrical design into the SunDAT design automation tool is another step towards improving the efficiency of solar engineers,” said Andrew Morse, director of Software Solutions at FTC Solar.

In addition to DC Electrical features, the SunDAT Pro V3.2 release comes with expanded SLD features for Central inverters including the ability to create medium-voltage (MV) single-line diagrams.

“SunDAT was designed by solar engineers looking to expand their capabilities and focus their energy on value-added design decisions,” said Tony Etnyre, EVP of Operations at FTC Solar. “Our team continues to innovate and deliver new capabilities that allow designers to deliver that value to projects.”
