Energix Renewables has announced an agreement with Alphabet’s Google to supply electricity and renewable energy credits from its solar projects to the tech giant. This partnership reflects the growing trend among major technology companies, like Google, to secure sustainable energy sources for their expanding AI data centers.
Initially, Energix will supply 1.5 gigawatt peak of solar project development until 2030, with an option to expand the partnership further. In addition to the energy supply, Google will provide tax equity to Energix, allowing the transfer of renewable energy credits under President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act.
The act permits corporate entities to acquire these credits, supporting the development of clean energy storage projects across the United States.
