RWE announced that it has won two out of the 103 awarded photovoltaic projects in the latest French regulatory bidding round. The secured projects have a combined capacity of 23.1 MWp (19.6 MWac).
French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE)’s tender process is aimed to allocate a total capacity of 925 megawatts (MW) at an average awarded price of €79.09/MWh. Among the 103 successful projects, RWE secured two ground-mounted photovoltaic projects, contributing a total installed capacity of 23.1 MWp (19.6 MWac) to France’s renewable energy sector.
RWE continues to establish itself as a key player in France’s solar energy industry. Katja Wunschel, CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the French renewable energy sector.
The awarded projects, Gannat and Pimorin, represent RWE’s latest advances in ground-mounted solar farms utilizing fixed technology.

Gannat Solar Farm (Allier Department)
Installed capacity: 7.9 MWp (6.3 MWac)
Number of solar panels: 14,337
Pimorin Project (Jura Department)
Installed capacity: 15.2 MWp (13.3 MWac)
Number of solar panels: 27,702
Strengthens RWE’s presence in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, where it already operates the Allerey wind farm in the Côte-d’Or department.
