Vikram Solar, an Indian solar energy solutions provider , announced it has reached 1GW of manufacturing capacity.
This feat is a major contribution towards the 100 GW target set by the Indian government by 2022, the company said.
With a capacity of 1 GW, Vikram Solar is well equipped to cater not only to the Indian needs, but also contribute to the International solar industry.
Expressing his satisfaction on this feat, Gyanesh Chaudhary, MD & CEO, Vikram Solar, said, “For the past decade we have been toiling away, shaping the solar landscape in the country, with our high efficiency modules ‘made in India’. Today we pride ourselves in being an Indian company to have fortified manufacturing capacity to 1GW. “
“India has today come into its own as one of the largest emerging PV markets in the world and we are geared up to do our bit in the ‘Make in India’ initiative as well,” Chaudhary added.
“In our endeavor to contribute to our make in India commitment, we aspire to expand our capacity to 2GW by FY 2020,” Chaudhary said.
Vikram Solar is driving the manufacturing excellence in the Indian solar industry while bringing for the best in class technology backed by an aggressive R&D. During FY 2016-17, the company reported close to INR 1700 crores revenue, a significant increase compared to INR 900 crores in FY 2015-16.
