SolarMax to Develop and Invest in 430 MWh Battery Energy Storage Project in Texas

U.S.-based SolarMax Technology plans to develop and invest in a 430-MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Texas, marking its largest energy storage initiative to date. The project will be located within the ERCOT grid and is aimed at supporting grid stability, particularly during peak demand and extreme weather events. SolarMax will act as both investor and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor, demonstrating its integrated project capabilities. The BESS is expected to come online in 2026.

Eku Energy and NHOA Commission 67 MW of Battery Storage in the UK

Eku Energy and NHOA Energy have commissioned a 67 MW/134 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Basildon, Essex, UK. The lithium-ion system, connected to the National Grid, will help balance electricity supply and demand, especially during peak hours, and support the UK’s transition to renewable energy. NHOA Energy led the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), as well as operations and maintenance, while Eku Energy owns and manages the asset. The Basildon project is part of a broader 150 MW portfolio the two companies are developing in the UK.

BayWa r.e. and WHES Partner to Expand Renewable Energy Distribution in the Caribbean

BayWa r.e., a global renewable energy solutions provider, has signed a distribution partnership with Caribbean-based WHES (Windmar Home Energy Solutions). The collaboration aims to strengthen the availability of solar and energy storage products across Puerto Rico and the wider Caribbean region. WHES will distribute BayWa r.e.’s comprehensive portfolio, including solar PV modules, inverters, racking systems, and energy storage solutions.

Zenobe Selects Wartsila Technology for 68-MW Battery Project in Scotland

UK-based energy storage firm Zenobe has chosen Wartsila to supply and integrate energy storage technology for its 68-MW/136-MWh battery project in Kilmarnock South, Scotland. Wärtsilä will provide its GridSolv Quantum battery systems and GEMS Digital Energy Platform, ensuring optimal performance, real-time monitoring, and grid-balancing services. The project is scheduled to become operational in 2026 and will support the UK’s National Grid by enhancing system stability and facilitating the integration of renewable energy. It is part of Zenobe’s 1.2-GW portfolio in development.
