Itron announced that for the fifth consecutive year, it has been named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Meter Data Management Products.
The product, Itron Enterprise Edition (IEE) Meter Data Management (MDM) solution, meets the needs of different utilities by providing consistent, meaningful data collection critical to smart metering, said Bruce Douglas, senior vice president and general manager of software and services at Itron.
“IEE MDM supports a simplified environment that consolidates reading data from multiple collection systems to accurately evaluate AMI systems,” Douglas further said. “From Itron’s perspective, the recognition of its IEE MDM marks it as a mature product with a broad functional scope and robust validation, estimation and editing (VEE) capabilities,” Douglas added.
Itron has provided IEE MDM to 83 utility companies with more than 39 million meters in the field. Itron manages key aspects of a utility’s data collection from IEE MDM through the cloud, using a managed services model called Itron Total Outcomes.
Harnessing cloud services, Itron Total Outcomes integrates analytic applications for voltage analysis, transformer load management, theft and tamper detection, customer portal, customer service representative portal and grid reliability analysis, which are all offered via the cloud, the company said.
