Cirba Solutions Announces Claire Zirkelbach as Chief Financial Officer
Cirba Solutions has appointed Claire Zirkelbach as Chief Financial Officer. Zirkelbach brings nearly 20 years of experience in financial leadership, particularly in the minerals sector. Her appointment will support Cirba’s mission to drive growth in battery recycling and mineral refinement, contributing to a more sustainable and circular battery supply chain.
CS Energy and Calibrant Energy Complete Three Battery Storage Projects in New York
CS Energy and Calibrant Energy have completed three stand-alone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in New York, designed to enhance the state’s energy resilience. Using Tesla’s MegaPack2XL technology, the systems will deliver essential grid support during peak demand periods. These projects highlight the growing role of energy storage in strengthening energy infrastructure, particularly in locations with logistical challenges.
Castillo Engineering Selected for Solar Projects in New York’s Landfills
Castillo Engineering is working with Montante Solar to design two landfill community solar projects in Niagara, New York, totaling 13 MW. These projects, owned by Calibrant Energy, use ballasted, fixed-tilt mounting technology and are expected to be completed in early 2025. The U.S. has seen an 80 percent increase in landfill solar projects in the past five years, with New York leading in installed community solar capacity. This effort supports New York’s goal of 70 percent renewable energy by 2030 and a zero-emissions grid by 2040.
AC Power Partners with Rosemawr for Development Capital Deal
AC Power and Rosemawr Sustainable Infrastructure Management have formed a financing partnership to fund interconnection deposits for solar projects. This funding will help AC Power develop solar installations on landfills and brownfields, converting unused sites into energy sources. The projects will provide clean energy to local communities while repurposing underutilized land.
