HiLumz, the U.S. manufacturer of HiLumz LED Lighting and Retrofit Solutions, announced that specific 2nd Generation Diamonz 75W and 130W LED Retrofit Kits are now listed on the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) Qualified Products List (QPL).

The QPL resource determines the efficiency standards for program incentives in U.S. and Canada that lists high-efficiency LED products in commercial sector.

Recently, the company has announced shifting their LED Retrofit Kits production unit to the US. These kits are designed in order to retrofit existing High Intensity Discharge (HID) fixtures with an LED solution, found in parking lot, streetlights and canopy fixtures for Commercial and Industrial applications.

Chuck Rigby, executive VP, HiLumz, commented, “When we decided to move production to the US, this created the necessity to resubmit our previously listed 75W and 120W products for qualification. Keeping the DLC’s high standards in mind, we reached out to a major utility company to review the retrofit kits with regards to their rebate program. One of the comments indicated that they felt the kits were a ‘game changer.”

An additional achievement was based on updating the existing mounting system to meet DLC retrofit standards with new patent-pending FlexMount System. This mounting provided great flexibility for positioning the head to get maximum light output, with an easy-installation, added Rigby.

QPL is used as an incentive and rebate program incentive by many utility companies.

These DLC qualifications are able to provide additional energy savings for customers who are switching to LED solutions. When a balance is drawn between quality products and providing efficiencies everyone gets benefitted, said company sources.
