AT&T and Acclaim Energy Collaborate to Improve Power Grid Reliability

By Greentech Lead America: Wireless major AT&T has
entered into a strategic agreement with Acclaim Energy Advisors, a provider of
energy management solutions for commercial, industrial, healthcare and
governmental consumers, to provide a service to business customers that can
reduce their utility costs while protecting sensitive equipment from power
surges and helping restore reliability to the power grid.

“With the continued expansion of our AT&T Smart Grid capabilities, we collaborated with
Acclaim Energy to help bring to market a unique solution that directly
addresses ongoing power grid issues,” said Abhi Ingle, vice president of
industry and mobility application solutions group, AT&T Business and Home
Solutions.

Acclaim Energy leverages AT&T’s deep expertise in
securely managing communications and data systems to improve the delivery of
cost effective, reliable electricity.

The Acclaim Energy DLO365 will utilize smart grid
technology to provide low cost, intelligent power metering and control systems
that enable remote monitoring and switching of loads from the grid to standby
generators within seconds.

DLO365 can automatically reduce energy loads as small as
100 kW across many customer sites. Combined with abundant security and disaster
recovery features, DLO365 helps ensure continuity of service and electric
generation during emergencies.

Ice Energy taps AT&T M2M Services for sustainable cooling
solutions

Recently, Ice Energy deployed machine-to-machine
(M2M) services from AT&T. AT&T’s Enterprise On-Demand platform, a
custom web portal that controls wireless device inventory, enables Ice Energy
to remotely manage, monitor, and diagnose its ice machines. Ice Energy provides ice machines, known as
Ice Bear units, mounted on top of medium to large-size commercial buildings.
These ice machines offer an alternative to power-guzzling air conditioning systems.
