Taihan Wins Cable Supply Contract for 532 MW Offshore Wind Project in South Korea
South Korean cable manufacturer Taihan Cable & Solution has secured a contract to supply and install submarine power cables for a 532 MW offshore wind project off the coast of South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The agreement covers 66-kV high-voltage cables and includes engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services. The cables will connect turbines to the offshore substation and transmit power to the onshore grid. The wind farm is being developed by a domestic energy consortium and will play a significant role in South Korea’s renewable energy targets. This deal strengthens the country’s ambition to expand its offshore wind capacity to 14.3 GW by 2030.
Enel Green Power to Develop 10.9 MW Solar-Plus-Storage in Canary Islands
Enel Green Power España, the renewables arm of Endesa, will build three solar photovoltaic plants with a combined capacity of 10.9 MW and a 7.1 MWh battery storage system in GüÃmar, Tenerife (Canary Islands). Named Tagoro, Tagoro V, and Tagoro VI, the projects will help enhance grid reliability and reduce fossil fuel dependency on the island. Supported by over EUR 6.2 million from Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan funded by the EU’s NextGeneration initiative, the hybrid installations aim to strengthen renewable penetration in isolated power systems. Construction is expected to begin in 2025.
Sonnedix Acquires 12.6 MWp Operational Solar PV Plant in Spain from Nordic Solar
Global solar IPP Sonnedix has acquired a 12.6 MWp solar PV plant in Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, from Danish asset manager Nordic Solar. Commissioned in 2021, the plant operates under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with a reputable local utility, ensuring stable revenue. The acquisition is part of Sonnedix’s strategic growth in Spain, where it now has over 2 GW of total capacity across operating, under-construction, and development-stage assets.
