ABO Energy to Sell Polish and Hungarian Subsidiaries to PPC
ABO Energy has agreed to sell its Polish and Hungarian subsidiaries to Greece’s PPC Group, transferring 38 employees, five operational solar parks totaling 82 MW, and a 17 MW solar farm nearing completion. The transaction also includes a renewable energy development pipeline of more than 2 GW, covering solar, wind and battery storage projects at various stages of development. PPC Group will integrate the two fully staffed local platforms, strengthening its project-development capabilities in Central Europe. Konstantinos Mavros, Deputy CEO of RES at PPC Group, described the deal as a decisive step in expanding the company’s Central European platform. Dr Karsten Schlageter, Managing Director of ABO Energy, said the sale supports the company’s strategic focus on markets with sustainable long-term commercial potential. Subject to regulatory approvals, the Polish transaction is expected to close in September 2026, with Hungary targeted for Q4 2026.
Levanta Breaks Ground on 166 MWp Barotac Solar and Storage Project in the Philippines
Levanta Renewables, a portfolio company of Actis, has started construction of the Barotac Solar Power and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project in the Visayas, Philippines. The development comprises a 166 MWp ground-mounted solar PV plant integrated with an 80 MWh BESS, with the project spanning approximately 155 hectares. Awarded under the Philippines’ Green Energy Auction Program Round 4 (GEA-4), the project represents an investment of around PHP 5 billion and is expected to avoid more than 200,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. Commercial operations are targeted for mid-2027. Pramod Singh, CEO of Levanta Renewables, said the milestone demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering commercially viable clean-energy projects, while Pankaj Sakhuja, Chief Investment Officer, highlighted the role of battery storage in strengthening grid stability and energy security.
BLM Seeks Public Input on 500 MW Mosey Solar Project in Nevada
The US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public comments on the proposed 500 MW Mosey Solar Project, developed by Renew Development HoldCo LLC on approximately 3,565 acres of BLM-managed public land in Clark and Nye counties, Nevada, southeast of Pahrump and about 30 miles west of Las Vegas. The project would include a 500 MW photovoltaic facility, battery energy storage, a generation-tie transmission line and access roads. Electricity would be delivered to the Trout Canyon Substation. BLM will prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and amend the Las Vegas Resource Management Plan to realign existing utility corridors. Public comments are open until August 28, 2026, with the final EIS scheduled for December 2027.
