PreZero has ordered 35 battery-electric trucks from Volvo, marking the largest electric truck order in Sweden’s recycling industry to date.

PreZero is an international waste management, recycling, and energy recovery company committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its operations and value chain.

PreZero Sweden began using Volvo electric trucks in 2022 and is now expanding with 35 more trucks along with investments in depot charging infrastructure in the Stockholm area.

The order includes 24 Volvo FM Low Entry trucks, Volvo’s first model developed exclusively for electric operation, optimized for urban waste management with high visibility and safety features.

Also included are ten Volvo FM Electric trucks and one Volvo FL Electric truck.

The Volvo FM Electric earned a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and the City Safe award.

All trucks will feature Volvo Dynamic Steering (VDS) for ease of handling and reduced driver strain, and nearly all will include Volvo’s new side mirrors with cameras to improve visibility and reduce blind spots.

The electric trucks will help cut emissions and noise levels in urban areas, improving residents’ living environments.

Volvo Trucks is a global leader in electric trucks with eight battery-electric models and over 4,900 electric trucks delivered in 49 countries since 2019.

Volvo’s strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040 includes a three-path technology approach: battery-electric, fuel cell-electric, and renewable-fuel combustion engines using green hydrogen, biogas, biodiesel, or HVO.

PreZero International operates in ten European countries with 30,000 employees; its Swedish operations serve around 40 municipalities and 30,000 businesses with over 1,100 employees.
