Greenlots and BMW Asia jointly support EV launch in Singapore

Greenlots, provider of EV technology solutions has partnered with BMW Asia to provide with its first Home and Public Charging network as part of BMW’s 360º ELECTRIC program in Singapore.

360º ELECTRIC program is designed to insure BMW i owners from an all-round outlook that consist of four main features like Public Charging, Home Charging, Flexible Mobility and Assistance Services, that comes standard with the purchase of this particular model.

This partnership and rollout has been coordinated with BMW i’s first market launch in Southeast Asia and the first public commercial EV to enter Singapore streets.

Greenlots plans to install up to 30 L2 (AC) chargers across 20 public locations within 2014.

The charging network is based on the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) system, an approved standard for open charger-to-network communications globally.

This provides BMW i owners and Singapore based EV drivers with the infrastructure needed to obtain for growing EV purchase.

ChargeNow is BMW i’s open standards based, SKY smart public charging platform for Greenlots customers.

With the help of BMW i ChargeNow card and Greenlots mobile app, BMW I drivers can access the network of AC charging units in Singapore.

Using the car’s navigation system, the drivers get real-time information and can locate easily the nearest available charging point.

i Wallbox Pure is for Home Charging, which on installation can charge vehicles conveniently at home or office for BMW I owners.

BMW i drivers will get support from qualified technicians for entire installation process, including electrical inspection.

At an initial visit, electrician will check if the buyer’s home or office is electric mobility-friendly and then the full installation will commence which will be backed by a Greenlots warranty.

“Being at the helm since 2009, will allow us to continue to support Singapore’s transition to electric mobility.” said Lin Khoo, senior vice-president, Greenlots.
