CarCharging and Ace Parking expand electric vehicle charging services in to San Francisco Bay Area

By Greentech Lead America: Car Charging Group,
a provider of electric vehicle charging services, has expanded its
electric vehicle (EV) charging services network to six new properties managed
by Ace Parking in San Francisco, Oakland, and Walnut Creek, California.

CarCharging is currently accelerating its deployment of
workplace charging services in visible, convenient and accessible locations for
EV drivers. These new EV charging services are located near popular high
traffic retail sites, including Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco.

“The locations we selected for new EV charging
stations are frequented by customers who are environmentally aware and seek out
Ace Parking locations while at work, shopping, and entertainment locales in the
Bay Area,” said Jonathan Wicks, Ace Parking director of operations in
Northern California.

Car Charging Group has deployed Coulomb
Technologies EV fast charging station, known as Level II at each Ace Parking
location. Level II provides 240 volts with 32 amps of power to quickly refuel
an electric vehicle’s battery.

“Working with Ace Parking, we’ve established a
definitive presence for EV charging services in high traffic locations in San
Francisco, Oakland and Walnut Creek,” said Michael D. Farkas, CEO of
CarCharging.

EV drivers can easily register and create a CarCharging
account online, and attach a small card to their keychain to initiate use and
payment at any intelligent CarCharging station.

The CarCharging keychain card also allows drivers to use
charging locations on the ChargePoint Network, the largest national online
network connecting EV drivers to EV charging stations.

The ChargePoint mobile application for the iPhone,
Android, and Blackberry phones also provides real-time charging station
location information with turn-by-turn directions. Drivers will soon be able to
reserve a time slot, guaranteeing access to EV charging stations to recharge
their electric vehicle.
