Orsted has completed the sale of 12.45 percent stakes in four UK offshore wind farms  to Brookfield for £ 1.745 billion (approx. DKK 15.7 billion).

These operational wind farms — Hornsea 1, Hornsea 2, Walney Extension, and Burbo Bank Extension — have a combined total capacity of approximately 3.5 GW, marking Brookfield’s first investment in UK offshore wind.

The transaction aligns with Orsted’s farm-down programme announced in February, ensuring value retention while enabling Brookfield to partner with the world’s largest offshore wind player.

Orsted retains a 37.55 percent ownership interest and will continue operations and maintenance of the wind farms. All four assets operate under long-term inflation-linked contracts for difference.

Orsted currently operates over 5 GW of offshore wind capacity in the UK and has an additional 5 GW under development, including Hornsea 3 and 4.

Globally, Orsted has installed 15.4 GW of renewable energy and has another 7.7 GW under construction.
