Sandra Dettmer will join the Management Board of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia as Chief Operating Officer (COO) starting April 1, 2026, strengthening the company’s leadership as it expands renewable energy projects across Europe and Australia.

The appointment reflects RWE’s growing portfolio of onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects currently under construction and operation. In her new role, Dettmer will oversee engineering, construction and operational activities for renewable energy assets, along with health, safety and environmental (HSE) management.

Dettmer will serve alongside CEO Sopna Sury and CFO Simon Bockmühl on the management board.

Before this promotion, Dettmer worked as Director of Construction at RWE Renewables Europe & Australia, where she led the execution of multiple renewable energy infrastructure projects. Her experience in building large-scale renewable facilities is expected to support the company’s strategy to expand wind, solar and energy storage capacity.

Markus Krebber, CEO of RWE, said Dettmer brings deep experience in the energy sector and strong familiarity with the company’s renewable operations across Europe and Australia.

He added that the continued development of wind, solar and battery storage technologies remains a key pillar of RWE’s value-driven growth strategy.
