Vestas has secured a contract to supply turbines for the 48 MW CGN Fujian Anxi Longmen wind farm in China.
According to the deal, Vestas will supply 24 of the V100 2 MW machines for the project located in Fujian province.
The contract also includes a two-year service agreement. CGN already operates Vestas turbines totaling 960 MW installed in China.
“Vestas installed its first wind turbine in China in 1986 and has since introduced a full suite of turbine and service products for China’s low and medium-wind sites,” said Vestas president for Asia Pacific and China Chris Beaufait.
Recently, Vestas signed a MoU with the Government of Sindh in the Punjab province of Pakistan for developing pilot wind projects in the country.
Under the agreement, Vestas will provide engineering and technical services to the Government of Sindh, undertaking developmental activities for 100 MW wind farm initially which can be expanded further to 300 MW in later stages.
In addition, Vestas will also participate in equity and arrange debt financing for the project.
In anothr development, Vestas entered into a deal with OX2 to supply 10 turbines for the 33 MW Maevaara 2 wind power plant in northern Sweden.
Under the contract, Vestas will supply, install and commission the V126, 3.3 MW turbines with de-icing system.
Delivery of the consignment will begin in the second quarter of 2016 with the installation to take place over the second and third quarters.
The contract also includes 15-years of service agreement with Allianz Capital Partners. Earlier, the company acquired the 24-turbine phase I of the complex.
According to a new report it is estimated that by 2016, China wind turbine output will remain at about 7.4 million sets.
