Vestas Secures Major Order for Bockenem Wind Project in Germany

Vestas, a leading sustainable energy solutions provider, has clinched a substantial order from SAB WindTeam for the Bockenem project situated in Lower Saxony, Germany. This contract marks a significant step in bolstering renewable energy initiatives in the region.

The order encompasses the supply, delivery, and commissioning of seven V162-6.2 MW wind turbines. Vestas, upon completing the installation, will further ensure optimal performance through a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Sulai Fahimi, Vice President Sales Central Europe at Vestas, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to build upon our strong track-record to successfully execute projects with SAB. This project is another great example of the collaboration between SAB and Vestas.”

Lars Niebuhr, Managing Director at SAB WindTeam, highlighted the significance of the Bockenem wind farm in solidifying their partnership with Vestas. “The project is a very important milestone in our presence in Lower Saxony and emphasizes our commitment as a reliable partner for all local stakeholders involved,” Niebuhr stated.

The timeline for the project outlines turbine delivery commencing in the third quarter of 2024, with commissioning slated for completion in the second quarter of 2025. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the renewable energy landscape in Lower Saxony, promoting sustainable energy practices and strengthening partnerships between key industry players.
