Vestas has secured a firm and unconditional order for the 50 MW Hüselitz wind farm in eastern Germany.

CPC Germania has ordered 15 units of the V112-3.3 MW turbine from Vestas that provide proven technology and low cost of energy. The agreement also includes an option for an additional 19 turbines.

The delivery of turbines is expected to start in the third quarter of 2015 and the commissioning is expected by the beginning of 2016.

Hüselitz farm is located in Saxony-Anhalt. For around 15 years, Vestas has been a partner for CPC Germania for various wind energy projects in Europe.

Vestas entered the German market in 1986 and has delivered more than 6,900 turbines having a total capacity of 10,000 MW so far. Today, Vestas has a market share of about 24 percent in Germany.

Recently, Vestas signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Sindh in the Punjab province of Pakistan for developing pilot wind projects in the country.

Under the agreement, Vestas will provide engineering and technical services to the Government of Sindh, undertaking developmental activities for 100 MW wind farm initially which can be expanded further to 300 MW in later stages.

During the initial stage, four pilot projects will be developed by the company for which Punjab government will provide all facilities.

Every pilot project will have the potential of generating up to 250 megawatt electricity. Besides, the development work at four potential locations will be completed on war-footing.

In another development, Vestas entered into a deal with OX2 to supply 10 turbines for the 33 MW Maevaara 2 wind power plant in northern Sweden.

Under the contract, Vestas will supply, install and commission the V126, 3.3 MW turbines with de-icing system.

It has been reported that Germany has built a massive wind power of 5.2GW with new capacity during 2014.

The report also reveals that Germany was by far the biggest market last year, installing nearly half of new wind farms in the EU.
