Parsons acquires O\'Connor Associates to expand environmental services

By Greentech Lead Team:
Parsons, a provider of environmental services, has acquired O’Connor
Associates, an environmental consultancy firm in Canada. O’Connor Associates
will increase Parsons’ presence in Canada and enhance its efforts in the areas
of environmental site investigation and remediation.

O’Connor Associates meets the environmental business
needs of its customers, which include Imperial Oil, Suncor Energy Products,
7-Eleven, and Hydro One.

“O’Connor Associates will accelerate our growth
strategy and expand our environmental service offerings. We look forward to
joining forces with O’Connor Associates’ exceptional employees, and we welcome
them to our team. Because there is little overlap in our customer bases, this
acquisition provides a framework to leverage both Parsons’ and O’Connor
Associates’ talent and customer relationships into untapped geographies and/or
service offerings,” said Chuck Harrington, Parsons’
Chairman and CEO.

O’Connor Associates will be integrated into Parsons
Environment & Infrastructure. This business unit is a provider of
world-class environmental, water, and sustainable energy infrastructure to
municipal and private sector customers.

“This is an exciting new chapter for O’Connor
Associates. By leveraging each other’s expertise, we are better positioned for
growth and will serve more customers and provide them with expanded service
offerings,” said Scott Digel, O’Connor Associates President and CEO.

O’Connor Associates reported revenues of CAN$34.9 million
in 2010. O’Connor Associates has nearly 200 employees and maintains six offices
across Canada with its headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. It is providing
service to more than 9,000 sites across Canada and 50 sites internationally.
O’Connor Associates offers the capabilities of a large company and the
responsiveness of a small company, backed by a history of excellence and
customer satisfaction.
