The Delta Electronics Foundation will host “Run for Water, Water for Run” exhibition to raise awareness on the water crisis in Taiwan.
The exhibition will be held at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei.
Delta Electronics is a pioneer in addressing climate change and promoting environmental education.
At the opening of the exhibition, Delta was honored with the presence of Tzi-Chin Chang, deputy minister of the Environmental Protection Agency, Taiwan, Wei-Fu Yang, director general of the Water Resources Agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan and representatives from the public, private and academic sectors.
The Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) includes warnings regarding water resources. It is hoped that the exhibition will raise awareness of limited water sources and encourage the public to use water better, Bruce Cheng, founder, Delta, chairman, Delta Electronics.
Cheng pointed out Delta’s Taoyuan Technology Center, a US LEED and Taiwan EEWH Gold-certified green building, as an example of water-saving practices. It uses 5,776 tons of recycled rainwater annually, sufficient for landscape irrigation and toilet flushing needs.
In addition, Delta’s factory in Wujiang, China reuses 17,138 tons of water from its air conditioning systems and cooling towers.
The name “Run for Water, Water for Run” delivers water footprint concept as well as shows the human tendency to live by water. The degree of life relies on water resources, providing the essence of life, said, Shan-Shan Guo, executive director, Delta Electronics.
The exhibition, in collaboration with international NGOs showcases water-saving tips from many countries and addresses the challenges Taiwan faces in preserving water resources.

Visitors can watch video displays on drought conditions that gripped across the world, enjoy poems and the actions of poet Sheng Wu on protecting the water resources of Xizhou Township, Changhua County; the engineering of the “Chianan Canal” that offers harmony between man and water; and, the residents of Namasia, an area frequently damaged by typhoons, who have to draw water from the mountain and who cherish water very much.
The exhibition also demonstrates a variety of innovations in water savings like “Wim’s Bathroom” that includes a method for saving water in our daily life. Wim Chang, deputy executive director of the Delta Electronics has implemented water-saving practices in his own house for six years.
The exhibition will be open to public from September 13 until October 8 and admission is free of charge.
