According to a statement, the array has been laid out on a lake in Xingtai city, Linxi county. Besides power production, the project is expected to help the local fishing industry by providing a shaded area of water on the lake that can be purposed as the hatchery. The shade prevents growth of algae, which is one key prerequisite of a hatching area.
The project should generate about 11 gigawatt hours of electricity each year. And Guangdong East estimates the arrays can yield about 10 percent more energy compared with ground-mounted solar parks.
Guangdong East Power is a producer of uninterruptible power supply devices, solar inverters and batteries.
