Eurofragance, the fragrance manufacturer, reported significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and energy use while maintaining carbon neutrality across its global manufacturing sites and strengthening its ESG leadership.

A key achievement was a 41 percent reduction in direct greenhouse gas emissions per ton produced compared with the 2021 baseline. The improvement reflects investments in cleaner manufacturing processes, operational efficiency and climate-focused initiatives designed to lower emissions across production facilities.

The Eurofragance Sustainability Report 2025 indicated that it also maintained carbon neutrality across all global manufacturing sites by combining emissions reduction measures with the offsetting of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, reinforcing its long-term commitment to low-carbon manufacturing.

Eurofragance offset tons of CO2 emissions generated during 2024 through environmental conservation and reforestation projects in Spain, Singapore, and Mexico. In Spain, the company compensated 185 tons of emissions through its “One Tree for Every Ton of CO2 Reduced” initiative, combined with an Amazon reforestation project in Brazil, with trees planted in Barcelona, San Bartolomé de la Torre, and Torimbia. In Singapore, 370 tons of emissions were offset via a conservation project in Central Kalimantan, Borneo, protecting ancient forests and endangered orangutans. In Mexico, 72 tons of emissions were compensated through a sustainable forest conservation and carbon capture project in Durango State.

Investment in renewable energy projects continued to play a central role in the company’s sustainability strategy. Eurofragance achieved 100 percent certified renewable electricity across its corporate offices, Creative Center and primary manufacturing facility in Spain, significantly reducing emissions associated with purchased electricity.

The company also expanded on-site renewable energy generation. Solar panel installations at its main Spanish production facility prevented approximately 44 tons of carbon dioxide emissions during 2025, further reducing dependence on conventional electricity while strengthening operational resilience.

Resource efficiency improved significantly during the year. Eurofragance reduced water consumption by 41 percent per ton produced compared with the 2021 baseline, demonstrating the effectiveness of initiatives to optimize water use throughout manufacturing operations. The company also achieved a 17 percent reduction in energy consumption per ton of fragrance produced, reflecting improvements in equipment efficiency, operational optimization and smarter manufacturing practices.

Sustainable innovation remained a major focus throughout 2025. Eurofragance introduced Olivante, a proprietary fragrance ingredient created from waste generated by the olive oil industry. The innovation transforms agricultural byproducts into premium fragrance ingredients, supporting circular economy principles by converting waste streams into valuable raw materials while reducing reliance on virgin resources.

The company’s commitment to sustainable chemistry also received international recognition. Its proprietary fragrance ingredient Euphorion was awarded Best Sustainable Ingredient in Perfumery at the Barcelona Perfumery Congress Awards, highlighting Eurofragance’s ability to combine scientific innovation with environmental responsibility.

Eurofragance further strengthened its ESG credentials by earning the EcoVadis Platinum Medal for the second consecutive year. The recognition places the company among the top 1 percent of organizations assessed globally for sustainability performance. The Platinum rating recognizes excellence in environmental management, ethical business practices, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement, reinforcing Eurofragance’s commitment to responsible sourcing, transparent governance and continuous ESG improvement.

The company’s sustainability strategy is led by Diana March, Chief Sustainability & Technical Compliance Officer, who oversees environmental initiatives, technical compliance, responsible sourcing and ESG strategy. According to March, achievements ranging from emissions reductions to the launch of Olivante and continued supply chain improvements reflect the company’s long-term vision of building a more resilient and sustainable business.

The Eurofragance Sustainability Report 2025 highlights measurable progress across its environmental strategy, including a 41 percent reduction in direct greenhouse gas emissions per ton produced, a 41 percent reduction in water consumption, a 17 percent improvement in energy efficiency, 100 percent certified renewable electricity across its Spanish operations, 44 tons of avoided carbon dioxide emissions through on-site solar generation, continued carbon neutrality at all global manufacturing sites, the launch of the upcycled fragrance ingredient Olivante, international recognition for Euphorion, and a second consecutive EcoVadis Platinum Medal placing the company among the top 1 percent of businesses worldwide for sustainability performance. These achievements position Eurofragance as a leading example of sustainable manufacturing and innovation within the global fragrance industry.
