Gates Corporation has reported strong sustainability progress in its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting significant achievements in greenhouse gas emissions reduction, energy efficiency, sustainable manufacturing, AI-ready cooling technologies, workplace safety, and ESG governance. The company exceeded its climate target by reducing combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 16 percent compared with its 2019 baseline, while lowering total global energy consumption by 4 percent through operational efficiency improvements.
Chief Executive Officer Ivo Jurek said the company continues to integrate sustainability throughout its global operations while pursuing its next generation of sustainability goals. The report demonstrates how Gates is combining operational excellence, product innovation, and responsible governance to drive long-term environmental and business performance.
Gates Sustainability Report 2025 indicated that a major sustainability milestone came through the expansion of the Data Master Eco manufacturing platform, which significantly improves production efficiency. The innovative manufacturing process reduces production energy consumption by approximately 75 percent compared with conventional manufacturing methods.
The technology eliminates the use of natural gas, water, and steam during key curing and strengthening processes, lowering carbon emissions while conserving critical resources. The halogen-free product design further reduces environmental impact without compromising durability or product performance.
Climate action remained a key focus during 2025. Gates achieved a 16 percent reduction in combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from the 2019 baseline, outperforming its original greenhouse gas reduction target. In addition, the company reduced total global energy consumption by 4 percent through facility optimization, improved manufacturing processes, and energy management initiatives across its operations.
Gates also expanded its sustainability strategy beyond manufacturing by introducing new Open Compute Project-aligned data center solutions designed for artificial intelligence and hyperscale computing infrastructure. The portfolio includes direct-to-chip liquid cooling hoses, ultra-compact pumps, and quick-connect couplings that improve thermal management, enhance cooling efficiency, and reduce electricity consumption in high-performance data centers supporting AI workloads.
Innovation continued to play an important role in the company’s sustainability strategy. During 2025, Gates secured 67 patents focused on improving product efficiency, durability, and resource utilization across its power transmission and fluid power technologies. These innovations help customers extend equipment life, reduce maintenance requirements, improve operational efficiency, and lower resource consumption throughout product lifecycles.
Employee health and safety also improved significantly during the reporting year. Gates achieved a 25 percent reduction in its Total Recordable Incident Rate compared with 2024, while severe workplace injuries declined by 33 percent, reflecting stronger safety management systems, employee engagement, and preventive workplace practices.
The company further strengthened its ESG governance by enhancing internal controls, sustainability reporting processes, enterprise risk management, and cybersecurity oversight. These improvements increase the reliability of non-financial reporting while supporting compliance with evolving global sustainability disclosure requirements.
