Trinasolar has launched the Shield Extreme Climate Solution, a first-to-market innovation for protecting solar PV plants in extreme weather.

The solution was unveiled at the Smart Energy Conference in Sydney and showcased at the 15th Clean Energy Expo China.

Specifically designed and tested in Queensland for the Australian market, the Shield solution features 25 percent thicker glass and 2.5 times greater impact resistance than conventional modules.

The system can withstand hailstones of 55mm at 0° and 75mm at 60°, using intelligent tracking to adjust angles for protection during severe weather.

The TrinaTracker smart control system uses real-time data to implement climate-specific strategies like wind stow positioning and snow thickness monitoring.

The structure offers high mechanical load capacity (+3600/-3000Pa) and withstands 2.2m of uneven snow load in fixed systems and up to +8000Pa/-6000Pa wind pressure in fixed mounting.

The Shield solution helps reduce BOS cost and LCOE while increasing project returns, delivering a customer value increase of 0.0364 AUD $/W and a 2.84 percent LCOE reduction.

Trinasolar also launched the Elementa 2 Pro 5MWh battery storage solution for Australia, featuring a self-developed 314Ah Trina Cell with up to 15,000 cycles.

The Elementa 2 Pro incorporates an intelligent hybrid air-liquid cooling system for improved safety and performance.

Trinasolar remains the only company in the industry offering integrated solar modules, BESS, and trackers, providing a complete, resilient energy ecosystem for the Australian climate.
