LX Pantos is accelerating its sustainability strategy with a commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, supported by renewable energy, rooftop solar power, electric logistics equipment, sustainable fuels and lower-carbon transportation services.

The logistics company has established an interim target to cut domestic Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 25 percent by 2030 against its business-as-usual projection. Its 2030 emissions target is 29,936 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, compared with projected business-as-usual emissions of 39,915 tonnes and the corresponding 2022 baseline of 34,631 tonnes.

LX Pantos is also preparing science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative. Its long-term roadmap calls for a 100 percent transition of freight vehicles to sustainable alternatives by 2050 and the use of 100 percent renewable energy across all logistics centres.

LX Pantos Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions Reach 53,982 Tonnes

LX Pantos reported combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions of 53,982 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2025, including domestic operations and overseas operations brought into the reporting boundary.

Domestic Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions increased to 39,328 tonnes, from 33,988 tonnes in 2024 and 32,538 tonnes in 2023.

Domestic Scope 1 emissions, primarily associated with vehicle operations, heating and other direct energy use, rose to 24,845 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. This compared with 23,050 tonnes in 2024 and 22,471 tonnes in 2023.

Domestic Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity increased to 14,483 tonnes, from 10,938 tonnes in 2024 and 10,067 tonnes in 2023.

LX Pantos said the increase reflected business growth, expansion of logistics centres and changes to its organisational reporting boundary.

Overseas Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, introduced as a new indicator in 2025, totalled 14,654 tonnes of CO2 equivalent. Scope 1 accounted for 3,671 tonnes, while Scope 2 contributed 10,983 tonnes.

GHG emissions intensity remained at 0.01 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per KRW 1 million of revenue.

Third-Party Verification Strengthens Emissions Accountability

LX Pantos subjects its domestic and international Scope 1 and Scope 2 inventories to independent verification.

Verified domestic GHG emissions totalled 39,327 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2025, comprising 24,845.097 tonnes of direct Scope 1 emissions and 14,482.629 tonnes of indirect Scope 2 emissions.

The minor difference between the verified total and the rounded sustainability-report figure resulted from business-site-level rounding.

Third-party verification covers domestic operations and key international worksites, providing an independently reviewed basis for tracking progress toward the company’s 2030 and 2050 climate targets.

Scope 3 Emissions Decline to 10,715 Tonnes

Domestic Scope 3 emissions decreased to 10,715 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2025, from 22,488 tonnes in 2024. However, they remained above the 5,508 tonnes reported in 2023.

Purchased goods and services represented the largest reported Scope 3 category at 5,208 tonnes, up from 2,315 tonnes in 2024.

Fuel- and energy-related activities not included in Scope 1 or Scope 2 generated 2,859 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, compared with 2,200 tonnes in the previous year.

Waste generated in operations accounted for 1,313 tonnes, down from 1,502 tonnes, while business-travel emissions increased to 1,335 tonnes, from 1,274 tonnes.

The 15,197 tonnes of CO2 equivalent classified under investments in 2024 were reclassified as Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from overseas operations in 2025 following a review of the calculation methodology.

Expected GHG Reduction Surges to 36,199 Tonnes

LX Pantos reported expected reductions of 36,199 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2025 across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3.

Expected Scope 1 reductions were 7 tonnes, compared with 47 tonnes in 2024 and 27 tonnes in 2023.

Expected Scope 2 reductions reached 312 tonnes, unchanged from 2024 and slightly below the 315 tonnes achieved in 2023.

Expected Scope 3 reductions surged to 35,880 tonnes, from 12,775 tonnes in 2024 and 11,061 tonnes in 2023. The company said Scope 3 reduction performance improved by approximately 180.9 percent year on year, mainly due to the expanded modal shift toward sustainable transportation.

LX Pantos is also using sustainable aviation fuel and sustainable marine fuel to reduce transport-related emissions. Partnerships with carriers and wider use of rail and other lower-carbon transport modes are intended to help customers reduce emissions across their supply chains.

2.5 MW Solar Plant Supports Renewable-Energy Transition

Renewable electricity is a major component of the LX Pantos net-zero roadmap.

The company completed a 2.5 MW rooftop solar power plant at the Sihwa MTV Center in December 2025. The facility occupies approximately 18,232 square metres of rooftop space, equivalent to about 2.5 football fields, and began full-scale operation in January 2026.

LX Pantos expects the solar plant to reduce GHG emissions by approximately 850 tonnes annually.

Earlier project estimates indicated that solar generation supplied to logistics centres could avoid up to 500 tonnes of Scope 2 emissions annually, equivalent to cumulative reductions of approximately 10,000 tonnes over 20 years.

The differing figures reflect separate project estimates and stages of the solar programme.

LX Pantos is complementing onsite solar generation with power purchase agreements and renewable energy certificates. Its environmental policy also supports solar power, wind energy and biofuels as alternatives to conventional fossil fuels.

LX Pantos Plans Additional 2 MW Solar Capacity

Building on the Sihwa MTV project, LX Pantos plans to install an additional 2 MW of rooftop solar capacity across three company-owned logistics centres.

The projects will cover the Mega Wise Cheongna Center in Incheon, the SC Yongin Center in Yongin and the Sinhang Eco Center in Changwon.

The additional solar installations are expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,200 tonnes annually.

LX Pantos also plans an inter-centre power-sharing system that can transmit electricity between logistics facilities, improving the use of renewable generation and reducing dependence on grid electricity.

The company’s long-term objective is to transition 100 percent of its logistics centres to renewable energy by 2050, supported by onsite generation, power purchase agreements and renewable energy certificates.

Energy Consumption Rises to 938.9 TJ

LX Pantos’ total energy consumption increased to 938.9 terajoules in 2025, from 815.1 terajoules in 2024 and 904.3 terajoules in 2023.

Electricity consumption rose to 54,341 MWh, compared with 42,635 MWh in 2024 and 38,008 MWh in 2023.

LNG consumption increased to 939,357 cubic metres, from 624,668 cubic metres in 2024.

Diesel consumption declined marginally to 9,683,261 litres, from 9,707,289 litres. Gasoline use decreased to 329,209 litres, compared with 364,657 litres.

LPG consumption fell sharply to 15 tonnes, from 810 tonnes in 2024.

Energy intensity increased to 0.00026 terajoules per KRW 1 million of revenue, from 0.00023 terajoules in 2024, but remained below the 0.00028 terajoules recorded in 2023.

The higher overall consumption highlights the importance of expanding renewable electricity and energy-efficiency programmes as LX Pantos grows its logistics network.

Electric Forklifts and EV Chargers Support Green Logistics

LX Pantos achieved a 100 percent conversion to electric forklifts at domestic operational sites, excluding certain diesel forklifts required for heavy cargo.

The company is also installing electric vehicle charging stations at logistics hubs and introducing LED lighting, automated lighting controls and smart energy-management systems.

At the Incheon Airport 2 Center, LX Pantos invested approximately KRW 14 million to install five EV chargers in a parking facility with 241 spaces.

These measures are intended to reduce direct operational emissions, improve building efficiency and create infrastructure for a broader transition to sustainable vehicles.

By 2050, LX Pantos plans to replace 100 percent of its freight vehicles with sustainable alternatives and complete the shift toward electricity- and hydrogen-based transport.

LX Pantos Expands Decarbonization Across the Logistics Value Chain

LX Pantos’ climate strategy combines a 25 percent Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reduction target by 2030 with a broader commitment to reach net zero by 2050.

The company’s operational measures include the 2.5 MW Sihwa MTV solar plant, an additional 2 MW solar expansion, electric forklifts, EV charging infrastructure, LED lighting and smart energy systems.

At the same time, modal shifts, sustainable aviation fuel and sustainable marine fuel are addressing transportation-related Scope 3 emissions. These measures helped expected Scope 3 reductions rise to 35,880 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2025, an improvement of 180.9 percent.

The increase in total energy consumption to 938.9 terajoules and combined Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to 53,982 tonnes shows that the decarbonization challenge remains substantial. Expanding renewable energy, improving transport efficiency and lowering emissions across domestic and international operations will be essential for LX Pantos to achieve its 2030 target and complete its transition to net zero by 2050.
