Trina Solar has agreed to supply 70MW high efficiency modules to a large-scale solar power project in Chile.
According to the agreement, Trina Solar will deliver TSM-PC14 solar modules with an output of between 300W and 310W per panel. Delivery of first batch of modules will start from September 2014.
This is Trina Solar’s second agreement of this year to supply modules to large utility scale projects in Chile.
The company has established a long-term relationship with customers in emerging markets such as Chile, where there is currently large demand and significant future potential for solar energy, said, Zhiguo Zhu, president, Module Business Unit, Trina Solar.
The stable performance provided by these modules in environments with high variations in temperature is suitable for the region’s solar projects. The company is growing business in the expanding South American market, allowing further advance in realization of diversified global strategy, added Zhu.
In a recent development, Trina Solar has signed an agreement to supply 82MW of its anti-Potential Induced Degradation (PID) modules to Sihong Tianganghu PV Power Generation for a solar plant located in Jiangsu Province.
It has settled to supply around 320,000 TSM-PC05A modules with power outputs of 245 Wp, 250Wp and 255 Wp.
