Total Nigeria, providers of oil and gas sector services, launched their first solar–powered service station in West Africa and Nigeria in Lagos.
T-air service station in Onigbagbo is reconstructed and equipped with SunPower solar panels. The service station features zero emissions of harmful greenhouse gases, zero noise pollution and a renewable energy source.
The company is aiming to provide environmental friendly and efficient energy solutions by initiating the solar energy services in West Africa.
During the commissioning, Alexis Vovk, managing director, Total Nigeria, said,” Reflecting the determination to contribute towards establishing long-term roots, company has created various T-air projects, 58 of them in Nigeria. By 2017, company will spread their network throughout the country with 500 service stations.”
“This year alone, company commissioned 16 T-air image stations and a solar power station in Abuja will be commissioned later this year. Total access to energy is a fundamental necessity of any person which develop impacts on access to communication and the overall development of the society,” added Vovk.
Total will continue tapping renewable energy solutions with more innovative ideas like Awango by Total solar lamps, telecommunication industry hybrid energy features and home-systems run by solar power.
