SunPower, a provider of residential solar technology and energy services, has announced strategic agreements with four prominent home builders to promote the adoption of solar energy in new home construction.
The partnerships with Beazer Homes, CC Homes, Meritage Homes, and Toll Brothers signify a growing commitment to sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective energy solutions in the residential construction sector.
Under these agreements, SunPower’s advanced Equinox solar systems will be pre-installed in select communities, simplifying the process for homeowners to embrace clean energy. This collaboration will encompass nearly 1,000 solar-powered homes spread across eight states, catering to a burgeoning market of environmentally conscious homebuyers.
“Forward-thinking builders who incorporate a renewable infrastructure from day one can reduce the cost of homeownership, provide a shield against rising energy bills, and positively address climate change. That’s exactly what Beazer Homes, CC Homes, Meritage Homes, and Toll Brothers are doing,” Matt Brost, Vice President of New Homes Sales for SunPower, said.
Meritage Homes Expands Solar Collaboration to Colorado
Meritage Homes Corporation is expanding its collaboration with SunPower beyond California to include residential communities in Colorado. The initiative will see solar panels as standard features in single-family homes and townhomes across the greater Denver area, aligning with Meritage’s commitment to delivering energy-efficient homes.
Toll Brothers Extends Solar Offerings Nationwide
Toll Brothers has expanded its agreement with SunPower to offer solar options to home buyers across four major markets. This expansion means that Toll Brothers will now provide solar technology as an option to its home buyers in California, Nevada, New York, and Massachusetts.
Beazer Homes Commits to Zero Energy Homes with SunPower Solar
Beazer Homes is set to integrate SunPower solar solutions into 125 homes across Maryland and Delaware. This collaboration will include the Chase Oaks development in Lewes, DE, and all future homes at Holly Farms in Parkville, MD. Each home in these communities will be certified as a DOE Zero Energy Ready Home™ by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
CC Homes to Retrofit and Include Solar in Future Builds
CC Homes is partnering with SunPower to offer solar systems to homeowners in their communities interested in enhancing their homes’ energy efficiency. The collaboration aims to retrofit hundreds of households within CC Homes’ communities with SunPower’s solar panels, with future builds integrating solar from the start.
SunPower’s New Homes business has experienced substantial growth, with record sales in the second quarter and a growing number of builders adopting solar solutions to meet rising home electricity demand. SunPower Equinox panels, which are backed by an industry-leading 25-year warranty covering parts, labor, and power production, have been recognized as “the most reliable panels of 2023” by Good Housekeeping.
