Samsung installs solar mobile charging units in Bengaluru

Samsung has installed solar mobile phone charging units at its exclusive stores in Bengaluru as a pilot project.

The installations comprise a charging dock connected to a pole fitted with solar panels. Smartphone users can use these recharge units placed outside the stores, Business Standard reports.

Samsung recently invested Rs 517 crore to set up a manufacturing facility in Noida to help supply the Indian market.

The Korean chaebol already has two manufacturing facilities and three research and development units in India. The company has been doing business in India for more than 20 years.
