JinkoSolar is to supply photovoltaic modules with total capacity of 80 megawatts for distributed rooftop projects to be developed by China Southern Power Grid Synthesis Energy (CSE).
The solar projects are to come up in Guangdong and Hainan provinces of China. JinkoSolar has already delivered the first shipment of PV modules for the projects, the company has reported in a statement.
CSE is a subsidiary of China Southern Power Grid (CSG), which focuses on the development of renewable energy and energy saving.
CSG is one of the two largest state-owned utilities in China which invest, construct and operate power networks in South China. It handles a sizable share of clean power projects, particularly solar, and is a leading developer of distributed solar projects in South China.

Xiande Li, the chairman of JinkoSolar, said: “We are optimistic about the development of distributed solar projects in China as the National Energy Administration is extending its support to its growth.”
JinkoSolar has completed projects with total capacity of 617 megawatts as of March 31.
The company recently reported total revenue of 2.7 billion renminbi which was a 36.5 percent increase year on year but was also a drop by 7.5 percent from the fourth quarter of 2014.
Kangping Chen, the CEO of JinkoSolar said at the declaration of the results for the quarter that the results for the quarter solidified the company’s lead in the global solar industry.
JinkoSolar saw module shipments to the tune of 703.5 MW, against the forecast of 600 MW. “As our solar project capacity and pipeline continue to grow, and our Malaysia facility begins operations, I am optimistic about new opportunities for the rest of the year,” Kanping said.
