Chinese solar photovoltaic module manufacturer JinkoSolar is to deliver modules for total capacity of 579 MW to projects in Brazil.

Brazil auctioned 1.043 gigawatts of solar projects recently and JinkoSolar has bagged supply contracts from several winning bidders.

The company already has delivered about 15 MW of modules in Brazil, which is about half the installed capacity in the country.

According to a report, JinkoSolar will be delivering modules manufactured at its factory in China.

Brazil has auctioned solar power projects twice including the recent one. Together these auctions saw the country awarding contracts for projects totaling capacity of about 2 GW.

Brazil’s third national solar auction is scheduled for November and is expected to tender about 21 gigawatts of pre-registered solar projects.

Besides large-scale projects JinkoSolar is also looking for development of potential in the distributed generation segment.

The country is planning to revamp its net metering regulations and may introduce the scheme to projects with maximum capacity of 5 MW. The current limit is 1 megawatt.
